NHF...Are you ready?

Can you believe in less than 5 weeks NHF will be in full swing? If you are traveling to Denver for this wonderful meeting are you prepared? Remember to get your travel letter from your HTC so you will not have any problems bringing factor and supplies on board if you are flying. If you will be traveling by car it is a good idea to find out where the HTC's and hospitals are on your route.

Do any of you have some travel tips that have worked out for you? We would love to hear from you!!

Well, I don't have any tips per say, but wanted to say how excited my hubby and I are to be able to attend. The kids will stay with family so we can really focus networking and learning. Looking forward to meeting you all in person!

I will not be able to make it, but i really just wanted to post a comment. or a question. My son who is now 3 has Severe Hemophila B and has been diagnosed for a year now. He has done well the past year. We have only had a few scares. I am now pregnant with our second son and I am having a c-section the 10th of November. Theres obviously a chance that he could have Hemophilia too so we are going thru all of the precautionary steps with him. I am worried how I will handle it if he has it too. I wondered if anyone else has already gone through this experience and how they handled it.

I have 3 three children, two of whom have severe hemophilia A. When pregnant with my youngest son, I was mainly focused on him being healthy. We knew there was a chance that he would have a bleeding disorder, and I guess I was greatful, because of my eldest son, I knew what to expect or at least how to deal with it all. At times it was a struggle managing all the factor treatments, but we developed a routine. Each of my sons experienced their bleeding differntly. My eldest had joint bleeds to his ankles and elbows, internal bleeding, and a few muscle bleeds. The youngest had nose bleeds, muscle bleeds, and joint bleeds in his toes, fingers, and one elbow. My eldest was generally pretty good about infusing, and the youngest hated it. Thankfully, they are 20 and 14 now and deal with it pretty well.
